I am looking through my gap year options and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good and respectable au pair agency or whether someone has been an au pair and whether it is worthwhile.

i suppose free live in, in a family environment so not dodgy (well this isn't Austria). and i guess the OP doesn't want to lonely? or maybe has a hidden agenda, eg. steal the husband get married and have lots of euros

i just think its strange for a 17/18 yr old to be an au pair and in australia. can you even do this in australia?

yeah i'm pretty sure you can. i have a friend who did it in Belgium after she finished school but she spent most of her time not helping out anyway, guess it was just easy money for her

being an an au pair would be heaps good. because its usually to rich families who let u holiday with them etc.

maybe if you're lucky. i hear of some families that really treat you like a proper domestic in an upstairs downstairs situation
