If I were to get 2 Distinctions and 1 Credit (in subjects with equal credit point value where they don't give out marks), would my average be a Credit or a Distinction?

That'll be in the credit range.

Your GPA would be 3.17 which is a credit.

Distinction average is 3.5

Credit average GPA (UTS follows the GPA system).

WAM (which is used by UNSW and USYD, and may be requested by certain employers) could be credit or distinction.

Worth noting that UTS (eng faculty at least) use WAM for deans list/honours and I suspect that would suggest its used internally and for transfers too.
