A baby that was blown onto railway tracks and run over by a train survived with little more than a bump, Swiss police said Thursday.
The six-month-old child was sitting in a buggy when a strong gust of wind blew it off the platform and into the path of an oncoming train, Bernhard Graser of the Aargau cantonal (state) police said.
"The train went over the child, but luckily it had fallen between the rails," he said, adding that the driver executed an emergency stop after seeing the buggy roll toward the edge of the platform.
Rescuers heard the baby's cries and found it lying beneath the train, virtually unharmed.
"There wasn't much left of the buggy," Graser said.
The child and its mother were taken to hospital and treated for shock before being released, Graser said.
The incident happened yesterday in the north-eastern Swiss town of Moehlin, close to the German border.

Misleading title.

I wonder how many have been run over by a train and haven't survived.
