There should not be any differences in career options or employment between the two.

If I recall, both are 3 year courses.

Commerce: You explore a range of majors and specialisations in the first year, then specialise in a major after that. So if you find out that you dislike marketing in the first year, then you can easily change paths.

Marketing: Mostly Marketing straight through. So more marketing.

That should be for most universities, anywhere.

Thank you!
But I asked my careers teacher and she said there are different career options

but she was too busy to tell me exactly:vcross:

Thanks anyway though, I think you're right about the 2nd part.
But commerce involves more abotu basic finance and accounting

I think the marketing option is better if you definitely know that is what you want to do. In the commerce degree you'll start with other stuff like economics, finance, accounting etc. If you like the other aspects of commerce and don't have a problem with starting out doing more subjects, then the commerce degree is probably better. If you know you don't like the others though, and don't think you can put up with them (I'm not sure for how long exactly) then go marketing I guess.

It is like a pyramid, you start broader with more subjects in the commerce degree, and then narrow it down as the years go by, and eventually probably specialise in one thing.
