Are there any subjects that usually have a band 6 cut off ABOVE 90? Just out of curiosity.

I have never heard of one but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

One thing to remember is that normally tasks etc are marked over a range from 0 - 100 but for the final HSC marks about 98% or more of the state will be reported with marks over the range from 50 - 100 therefore it is fairly reasonable to assume that in most, if not all, courses the marks will be pushed up to get into that range of marks.

how do you know it aligns up? is this just a hunch or do you have statistics?

Whats with accounting btw? There seems to be a relatively high percent getting quite high marks in it despite you saying it aligns bad plus like no one does it lol - seems weird.

There wouldn't be many but considering the array of subjects there are, there ought to be some that align negatively.

My biggest concern is how tough they mark because that obviously contributes to the accumulation of your final raw mark.

Remeber though that the team of judge markers use the marking criteria as part of the process they go through to determine the band cut-offs.

I have no idea!!! There's about 500 that do it in the state and about 50 get a band 6. but there arent many people on each band 6 score.. so i think that's why it aligns like that!

yeahhh tvet courses are usually harder to get band 6 in due to how little people do those subjects, like tourism, 380 people did it last year with 15 band 6's, so yeahh i guess its kind of relative though considering that only a little amount of people do it, so little amount get band 6's, but its still harder to get the top marks

I'm unable to find band 6 cutoffs for visual arts, but it scales quite terribly so I'm assuming it aligns poorly as well (not sure tho)
