Im pretty sure most of you know how to play but for those who dont a marathon thread is basically a fun knowledge, skill based game for educational purposes.

The rules are simple just post a question on the thread relating to the topic and then somebody answers it.whoever answered the question posts his/her own question up relating to the topic for somebody else to answer; this just repeats and thats basically how its played.

-please include working out.

Thanks for reading this and i hope you participate.

ill go first.

(x+2)^2 + (x-1)(x-7) =17

and in the wrong forum I might add :)
Well sony, since there isn't a PRELIMINARY maths forum, thus it has to be posted here.

Let it be posted here because it separates the HSC questions from preliminary questions.

the maths forum is for HSC and prelim. there are just subforums for HSC you could always go [prelim only] in the topic to keep the hsc students from answering all your questions
