Regarding the Beadle and Tatum experiment, was the amino acid that facilitated the bread mould growth tyrosine or arginine? My teacher said it was tyrosine but this HSC question (2012 q25) says it was arginine.

Thanks for any help!

From what i remember, it was arginine. I even searched it up to be sure from the website below
http://www.genomenewsnetwork.org/resources/timeline/1941_Beadle_Tatum.php
It says arginine aswell. But just to triple check, ask your teacher again tomorrow (Chances of bostes' answer being wrong is highly unlikely)

Edit: I rechecked a booklet my teacher gave me and it says arginine aswell.
