the opening ceremony was impressive at the start. best parts of the last few ceremonies: the torch lighting in sydney, the water flooded stadium with flaming rings in athens, and the drums, countdown, light show in beijing.

is it just me or did other ppl find channel 7's coverage/commentary pathetic?

Channel 7's coverage had too many unnecessary ad breaks and odd commentary. The Opening Ceremony was sexy nonetheless. (Except for the 2 hour country introduction part)
