i need to make a partition, clear sky doesnt work in windows 7, neither does CATIA (cad software i need for uni), so im keeping at least 60gigs (out of 320) on my laptop for my XP partition.

the only major problem i heard with that laptop is the battery life. but i heard dell has already improved it abit. think it should last me 2-3hrs. plus i can just undervolt the laptop and improve the battery life by 15-30mins (with no decrease in performance of course. but definitely i'm not overclocking the laptop).

I have a Dell Studio 15 and the battery lasts easily for 2-3 hours. I got the 9 cell battery instead of the 6 cell. Also you can buy an extra battery separately if you wish.

From what I've read, it's basically automatic overclocking when some of the cores are drawing less than their maximum allowed power and/or the CPU is cool enough. You can blame Intel for picking the name.

You can't reliably hackintosh 90% of laptops, and once you do you're often only one update away from breaking your installation.
