What would you say are the best racing games, in any console?

And add your reasons, is it realism? entertainment? graphics? length of the game? difficulty? etc, what makes it a "must-have"?

GT4. Realism. Length. Variety. Graphics. I like to muck around with different set ups on a variety of real cars and have them behave much like they would in real life.

Rallisport Challenge 2.

It actually has really good length to it, especially in the latter stages of the career mode. The graphics engine is still very awesome despite its age (Hell, it's on the original Xbox), the controls are very realistic, and yeah, there's a decent range of cars. I've been playing it for three years now and it's still a fun game to play.

GT4 is pretty awesome.

I was pretty hooked to the first NFSU too. That was the shit. I had the PC version and couldn't get enough of the downloadable patches that allowed me to have custom vinyls, neons, body kits and all that jazz.

Forza Motorsport 2 on xbox 360 have tons of cars.
The thing I find with all racing games is that the spectators are so fake, like 2d stick figures.

GT5 prologue they are 3d and move. Doesn't make up for the fact that its only a prologue. GT5 will be the best ever. Until they make GT6 etc

The best ever racing game, will be when they combine Gran Turismo and Tourist Trophy, and get lambourghinis and porsches in Gran Turismo.

The developer has stated, their ultimate goal is to eventually combine GT and TT.

Imagine that, every major bike and car ever built, in a perfectly simulated package. It'll happen inevitably.

Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Kart Advance, Mario Kart DS (my personal favourite, snaking is awesome once you can do it) and Mario Kart Wii.
