Hey. What are the best scaling subjects that would also benefit me in medicine?
" would also benefit me in medicine"Hey. What are the best scaling subjects that would also benefit me in medicine?
chem. consider doing phys, eco and 4u maths tooHey. What are the best scaling subjects that would also benefit me in medicine?
Nah thats for people who enjoy heaps of math, but i guess you cant go wrong with it if you do enjoy math. Don't get me wrong, that combo must be a reason why its a trusted classic loldo the classic .95, 4u maths, chem, physics, eng adv
honestly u can get .95 with anything hence my first messageNah thats for people who enjoy heaps of math, but i guess you cant go wrong with it if you do enjoy math. Don't get me wrong, that combo must be a reason why its a trusted classic lol
An alternative imo would be 3U Maths, English Advanced, Chemistry, Economics, Biology/Physics.. The amount of people i know who've gotten 99.5+ with this combo (or with a sub switched around, like modern history for economics for example) is insane.
My eldest did 4U Maths, Eng Adv, Chem, Eco, Bio and Physics. The idea was to drop one subject if she was weak at or didn’t like it, but she couldn’t decide which one to drop, so she continued with all 14 units. It probably cost her slightly in terms of her ATAR as she spread her efforts more thinly, but it’s nice to know she scored 90+ in Chem & Physics and the marks weren’t even counted in her ATAR.Nah thats for people who enjoy heaps of math, but i guess you cant go wrong with it if you do enjoy math. If your trying to get into medicine its probably valid to choose subjects based on scalingdont
choose
subjects

scaling.
What makes you want to do medicine?Hey. What are the best scaling subjects that would also benefit me in medicine?
Don't pick them if you don't like them. You'd rather do well in PE than shit in economics. Even though economics scales better, very good in PDHPE will be better than just average in economics.im doing 4u maths, 2u English, chemistry, biology, and pdhpe but im worried about the scaling of these subjects as I don't like economics or physics so I don't want to pick them. I also want to get a 99+ atar so I was just curious which subjects would scale the best. I want to do psychiatry/psychology in uni and become a psychiatrist (healthcare).
Your choices are very relevant to medicine and most of these subjects would probably scale well (I don't know much about PDHPE but you do have twelve units). Are your two units of English standard or advanced? Definitely recommend advanced WRT your stated goals.im doing 4u maths, 2u English, chemistry, biology, and pdhpe but im worried about the scaling of these subjects as I don't like economics or physics so I don't want to pick them. I also want to get a 99+ atar so I was just curious which subjects would scale the best. I want to do psychiatry/psychology in uni and become a psychiatrist (healthcare).
So what made you want to go into psychiatry is there something in you about knowing why people are behaving in a certain and that you want to help them out. If so then keep that desire within you when you become a psychaiatrist.im doing 4u maths, 2u English, chemistry, biology, and pdhpe but im worried about the scaling of these subjects as I don't like economics or physics so I don't want to pick them. I also want to get a 99+ atar so I was just curious which subjects would scale the best. I want to do psychiatry/psychology in uni and become a psychiatrist (healthcare).
It depends on your situation, if you or your family dont need the money i dont think its worth doing the job just for the experience. As after HSC there is plenty of time to work part time. But having said that if it is a relatively easy job that isnt a detriment to your sleeping schedule i would say it is alright from year 11 if you really want to do it.Thx for the info guys. It really helped me out. Just out of curiosity, should I get a part time job in Yr 11 and Yr 12?
I asked that question too.Why do you want to pursue medicine?
Not if he doesn't actually enjoy those subjects and is just doing them for scaling. It's much harder to study something your not actually interested in and don't have fun learning. That's like doing 4U maths because it scales well but you can't stand maths, obviously your marks are going to be pretty poor compared to someone who loves maths. If your trying to get into medicine its probably valid to choose subjects based on scaling
