for those of you that are in uni, what would your ideal uni timetable be like ?

is it more beneficial to have less days of uni with crammed pack sessions, or to spread your classes out over the week.

and is morning or night less of a hassle

any advice or bad experiences (lol) would do, thanks =]

8am Compulsary Lectures and Science Lab classes suck.
I prefer afternoon / evening classes but im not an early riser. The less days at uni are better imo because then it gives you time to earn $$$$

The timetable I'm hoping to get for this year (assuming I get my choice of lecture & tute times) is two days a week after the first 3 weeks. Yes long days, but good.

how do you think you work - I know someone who makes sure that, as much as possible, they have @ least one hour off between classes - and they spread it out because they know they can't concentrate for 2 classes in a row.

When do you find you work the best - morning, midday, afternoon, evening? When making your timetable put that into consideration and ensure that if you cant work @ all in the morning try to get the afternoon classes and vice-versa.

I reccomend staying away from 12 hour days straight (this semester in Germany i was originally meant to have 0800-2000 no break. But i quit 2 classes after the first week because I couldn't in any way shape or form do that....even now with 8-10, 12-16 and 18-20 i dont like Thursdays)

this coming semester im happy though - monday 1 hour (that i dont like having to only go in for 1 hour but there you go) tuesday and wednesday 2 hours..... 5 hours a week is awesome (especially after this semester in Germany :p )

For me it would be mondays and/or fridays off. Failing that, i'd dig monday mornings and/or friday arvos off. Also good if i'm working the days off (when i had a casual jerb), because i'd do something like work 2 or 3 days in a row (fri-sat/sun or sat/sun-mon).

mid week days off are hectic.

Or Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday Sunday off...
Friggin wootage.
LOL

I think you think your timetable is way better than it actually is. I mean, you'd be lucky if you were still concentrating by the end of the day, but most of all if your at home for 5 days out of 7, Im thinking that you will not be socialising as much as other people since your simply not there

My perfect timetable would be lie in the 10am - 4pm range each day with a day off somewhere in there. Lunch breaks, leave early friday, yea all the good stuff, I think the ideal timetable is pretty obvious

4 day weekends are the best.

Better if you can wrangle mondays off because I fucking hate waking up early on mondays

The two most important things to me in a uni timetable are:
1. Days off.
2. The fewest possible gaps.

If I could have crammed everything into 1 day that lasted from 8am to 8pm without a break I would have.

*sigh* in my last year of my first degree(s) i had like 9 hrs of contact time per week. monday and wednesday, then LONG weekend, each weekend. Now i'm starting again with some 24 hrs a week.

Oh well, at least i'm used to working 40 hrs a week so 24 could be considered a break... cept for the home work and study....
