I only recall defining it in my notes... hehe so that's all I put that I knew was directly related to biomass.

So everyone.. what's the answer?
Is it suitable for future chemicals?

in terms of biodegradability and renewability
but i said for the production of it.. no

i didn't really know what to write... blabbed on
- renewable
- petrochemical supplies decline --> economic pressure
- ethanol greenhouse neurtral
- cellulose would be good cos blah blah..10 x 10^11 of biomass is cellulose
- not good for plastics industry cos use only 3-5%
- named current disadvantages of ethanol use and production
- petrochemicals cannot support fuel needs
- pollution from petrochemicals

blah... i forgot everything once i walked out the door
i said yes, but not now..only if new developments are made

Cellulose is the major component of biomass so I kinda talked more about Cellulose. ie basic carbon chain required to make high demand products like ethene, biodegradability, renewable resource etc etc.
Basically overall I said it is an attractive alternative but it is not economically viable at the moment. It will come into play in the future.

i talked about what biomass is and the fact that its renewable and biodegradeabiltiy and how current supplies of what we're using will run out and stuff like that

I didn't talk about how renewable it was, not in that sense anyways. I talked about how it can be used again, l just didn't use any scientific lanuage.

did all that ethanol crap
also put stuff about biopolymers just to be sure, gaev for/against, what with biodegradbility etc vs high cost and stuff

I wrote about the potential of cellolose if it can be broken up to glucose, as glucose can be converted to ethanol, then to ethene. Then I talked about renewable, biodegradeble.. etc

hopefully it will get me full marks :D
