heh I wouldn't go as far as to say they're "easy as."

Unless of course you're highly gifted. =p

yer when finding the root i can be fuked using de'Marled (??) therom, i no that they roots when on a graph form a circle and are of equal angular distance apart
ie z^4 - 1=0
z1= 1
z2=w=i
z3=w^2=-1
z4=w^3=-i
its so easy when u graph them... n i dont have 2 do nething in physics for projectile motions cos u do it more in depth in 3u n 4u in calculus in the physical world. god that is easy it 2u... but no it 4u:(

But i thought you couldn't use the maths method for phy and the phy method for maths.

be aware that this "w, w^2, w^3, ..." thing only applies to the roots of 1 (doesn't apply to -1, i and any other number in the complex field)... I'm quite sure of it.

Hmm... if I'm not mistaken (and probably I am mistaken) someone once said in this forum that they can't penalise you for using maths in physics but they can for using physics in maths. But what's hard about physics methods anyway? For me they're really the same thing.

physics formulae automate the integration process, hence if you do it manually in phys(maths method) it's fine, but the reverse (phys in maths) is not alright.

phys methods are lame :p

haha.. who wants to keep deriving that formula everytime
maths methods are lame :p

Onli prob is I can't remeber the phy formula's, without look at the back of the test for the formulas ;), but I actually remeber the maths method.

I absolutely concur. :D
die physics :p

heh altho mechanics and phys aps. is practically just phys.
so you like physics or not??
uni physics has a LOT of maths...

maths also has a lot of physics

so you still hate physics?
then you also hate maths :p

I HATE (and I really do mean HATE in the strongest possible terms), I LOATHE HSC Physics.

You can't tell me it has maths in it :p

ed: in resp. to above and below, perhaps uni phys is dif. But I've only been exposed to Prelim Phys :p

It is because of your lack of practice at the physics things. If you use them often you will find you remember the formula and the values of the constants.

Also you will learn at least partially the atomic masses of elements and their standard potentials in chemistry.

Physics involves ALOT of maths, especially cosmology, and the string theory, lots of maths there :p

Just remember that simple tasks such as calculating the value of "1 + 1" actually require some maths knowledge and skills.

well what do you know? they do :p

I forget who did the complicated axiom juggling to prove that result...

No come back! Willie still luvz ya! :p

Nah, seriously though, I don't mind physics if its theory, infact they should make the whole course theory but I get annoyed when I see maths in "non-maths" subjects such as phy and eco. Obviously 2 periods a day of maths is not enough.
