Yes, there is a atheist club in unsw (sticking to unsw topic), and i refuse to join it simply because most 'atheists' are easily influenced and won't win a debate against religious people.
I don't only combat religion, i also question everything that is happening and i analyse things. That is why i don't like being called an atheist because i reason much more than one does in their lifetime.
Well if u think religion can help you, so be it because i don't want a guy hating religion simply because of hating it without reason, but we continue to fight it as much u want to spread it. But you can't link atheism to communist because there are no sufficient evidence to prove that, which on the other hand, the bible and historic wars alone can prove that the religion are linked to violence.

You don't have very many international student friends do you? A lot go back (during high school or uni or after undergrad) even if they are eligible for permanent residency. Some find here boring, not as homely, not as good job prospects etc...

Secondly the Communist Party has BURNED churches, mosques, etc. and sent religious leaders to gaol for decades. Communism and Socialism is built upon the doctrine that religious leaders are a part of a coercive class that seeks to enslave the proletariat to their whims and religious ideals so they can control their behaviour. Mao Tse Tung hated religion. Marx hated religion. Lenin and (arguably) Stalin hated religion. There are no serious communists that can be or are religious.

This, except Hitler was against the universality aspect of Christianity because of his racist ideology. Hence his rewriting of the Bible to celebrate Jesus' Germanity. So although he was Christian, I'd hardly call him a good one. And I think on one of his report cards he was marked as pretty poor in religion lol.

Atheism means, very basically, against theism. This means that any belief in a mythology is fallacious, as well as the practices that go along with any of these mythologies. There are varying degrees of severity within enacting atheism but that's irrelevant. Not hard stuff to understand here.
