Guns can be partly to blame because they kill a lot quicker and easier. If someone walks into a school with a gun, it's a lot easier for them to shoot many people than if they walked in with a knife.

In some cases that may be true depending on how much training they have or the calibre of the weapon but bullets are at the same time more blunt than knives and in many instances you can actually survive several rounds.

The problem is that those who commit massacres will find newer and innovative ways to harm their victims as much as possible, If they don't have a firearm they'll use homemade bombs or their car as a weapon.

You can control knives that are also made only for killing.
An army knife does more damage than a kitchen knife? Really?

News to me

Overall I don't think banning firearms reduces the level of crime at all.

Swimming pools are for swimming. Cars are for getting to places. Guns are for killing.

Yeah the solution to darwinism sorting this shit out is MORE GOVERNMENT WOO.

Swimming pools kill 100x as many children per year in the states but we don't ban them.

All of the people having a whine about guns in this thread can get fucked, you're all scumbag media-baited idiots with no understanding of reality
Private swimming pools should be banned. Very few are supervised by trained lifeguards, making fatal accidents far more likely than in a public, supervised pool. They also waste large amounts of (drinking quality) water.

Guns should be restricted to those who absolutely require them, such as members of the army on active duty. Criminals will acquire guns regardless of their [guns] legal situation, but other citizens possessing guns "for protection" is an ineffective response to this. In an armed robbery the addition of a second weapon is likely to trigger a violent reaction, and when a burglary is interrupted, the armed homeowner is far more likely to accidentally shoot themself than prevent a murderous burglar from shooting them.

As to the UK and knife crime, much of the apparant epidemic is actually due to increased reporting of violent crime. And the restriction of guns has prevented at least one primary school massacre: the (adult) would-be-murderer was forced to settle for a machete instead of a machine gun, and the Kindergarten teacher was able to physically prevent him from reaching the children until the police arrived. Had he been able to purchase a gun of any kind (obviously not including water guns/glue guns/the like) she would have almost certainly received injuries more serious than "several cuts to the forearms". I count this as a positive result.

Yeah guns aren't for sport and protection they're for killing.
Sport? Destroying plates and killing animals. Guns are for destruction, plain and simple.

The whole article is pretty vague.

In any case I doubt it was an Uzi. Uzi's are heavy guns with heavy bolts and as a result they don't have a lot of recoil. They aren't as controable as a roller locking MP5 but they don't fly out of your hand either. Uzi's also have grip safeties so if your hands slips off the grip the gun won't fire.

If he was indeed killed by a sub gun I’d say the Mac 10 is a more likely suspect as it's significantly lighter, has a much higher rate of fire due to it's lighter bolt, and lacks a grip safety. The media has never been able to tell these two guns apart anyway.

We can blame the Jews for this.

If Israel didn't make the Uzi this wouldn't have happened.
