I'm doing this assignment on this business and i don't know what industry its in. Its a petrol station which sells groceries, car stuff (oil etc), and does car insurance.

What are the different types of industries? Maybe, if you list all of these you could deduce which industry it fits in - maybe it is a combination of 2 or more industries.

Well industry can be subdivided into either:
Primary which involves the extraction of raw materials ready to be used in the manufacturing stage.
Secondary which Involves the manufacturing of raw materials already extracted
Tertiary which provides a service such as a teacher, lawyer and can be subdivided into:
Quinnery – work from home
Quaternary - IT based

The petrol station would be a tertiary because its providing a service.

I would also say it was tertiary.

But Quaternary and Quinnery are both derivations of Tertiary, right - if I recall correctly from last year?
