Hey everyone, as you all know the Business Exam is on Thursday. I am pretty much cramming, and I've made notes for each topic. They are in acronyms, summing up the syllabus. So my question is, if I just memorise the syllabus, will I be alright? I'm a A+ Bullshit Artist and I know general concepts of all the syllabus dot points. I also got 48% in trials, not knowing ANYTHING, reckon I can boost this up to a 70-80%?

Thanks so much for all your replies in advance.

Knowing the actual syllabus is very helpful for business studies (for instance, the role of finance part of the syllabus branches off into the strategic role, objectives (profitability, etc.), long/short-term goals and interdependence) - especially for extended responses/reports.

However, for the short answers, I suggest you do know the content behind it as you cannot BS as well in short answers as you can in extended responses.

Finance strategies and ways to improve financial ratios are really important things you should know, as well as sources of finance. The finance topic *usually* forms a bulk of the short answers section, although it didn't last year.

But yes, make sure you review your notes with a syllabus by your side and tick off dot points you're confident with and move on. Best of luck :)

Thanks so much for your advice, means a lot to me!!! I've gone through the syllabus and I know all the meanings behind all the points; pretty much how to answer most if they're in short answer. I am quite certain the exam will focus on Finance in S/A, it usually does, as you say!

But in all, thanks heaps!

i hope so lol. I like the finance topic. :D

The finance topic is like a disease...it rots the very core of what could have been a great subject. Profitability, Efficiency, Liquidity, Solvency can all go die in a hole.
