In Year 10, our Maths teacher made us a Mathsonline account each and gave us fortnightly assignments etc. .

I never used maths online, they didn't have 4unit stuff so I disliked it
And I preferred using textbooks and such.

Yes, self-learning is definitely a very important skill. A good textbook should be sufficient.

I'm in uni now and used Mathsonline like twice so it doesn't bother me at all.
