hey
i want to attend the cadetship evening at Luna Park on 22May
however its too late , like until 8pm
and iam living like 1.5hours far away ;(

is there any other places also hold this cadetship info ?or is there anyway i can get the info without attending?
Get your friend to go and get a goodie bag for you. Honestly it's worth travelling for, next year you'll be doing it most days anyway, why can't you stay till 8pm? (you can leave earlier if you want)

if you want a cadetship (which is the whole point of the evening), you'll most likely be working in the city, and so the travel wouldn't be much different.

It's the ICAA (Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia) Cadetship Evening, so the companies present will be looking for cadets to work in the field of Accounting.

Does anyone know how many people usually get chosen for EY/PWC cadetship?
What about UBS? Is it more competitive?
4 is the best number to go with, could be more or less depending on business needs.
What is the 4 based on? I've never heard it before as a set number for any of the above three.

does EC's include volunteering?
Yes. But you can be strategic in which category or section of your application you talk about it depending on what you actually did.

I definitely agree with this - a cadetship is really more about building a career as opposed to a wage. My sister is interested in Accounting (she is still in HS) and I'm pushing her to go for a cadetship because it can really set you up in terms of your options post-uni.
Agreed. As long as she's interested in the field, it's a great step which leads to a lot of great options from my own experience.

Info is all available online at each of the respective firm websites... but it's not just about the information. It's about you seeing which firm you connect with and actually like. That, and if you leave a good impression, it might help you along the way.
ps. Get used to travel (as others have mentioned). I used to do a 1.5 hour commute each way.

Most use the exact same one I think.
A lot of companies/firms use SHL but the individual companies need to choose the appropriate benchmark/peer group for the analysis so it can vary. The questions can also be tailored I believe.

Was in regards to accounting firms not UBS.
And I didn't say the number was set, "could be more or less depending on business needs".
Im not 100% on Sydney but Melb recruitment for Cadets is low, (in my cohort only 4 were hired, the year before was similar) and it won't improve for atleast another year (not including pwc).
