Indeed. It's not so much about the marks but the comments and whether or not it's indicative of a trend or character. There's nothing stopping someone asking for your kindergarten report if they wanted to. After all, they're going to be investing a decent amount of resources into training you up before you are remotely productive for the organisation- they need to manage their risk and conduct their own due diligence over you.
