Hey guys I'm about to start the second year of my Engineering(Civil)/Commerce degree and i'm a bit confused about what courses im supposed to do for engineering.

The Eng/Comm program states i have to do 168 units of Eng for the award
http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2008/3715.html
but the Civ Eng program states i have to do 192 units for the award
http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2008/3620.html

How does the difference work out in the end? which courses do i not have to take?

I just finished my 4th year I dont even know whats going on here. Basically whats meant to happen is that you don't need to do any Gen ed subjects which straight engineering students do and thats the difference. But I know also that you shouldnt do the commerce 1st year maths subjects QMA and QMB, as that should be covered in engineering maths. Hopefully then everything will work out.
