Hey could someone explain how i would dilate root x by -1 horizontally : wouldn't that be undefined or am i missing something here?

I would interpret it as a reflection in the y-axis. It's not undefined you just need to consider the new domain.

If you dilate the whole thing by -1 then what you are really doing is flipping the graph on the x-axis which in this case is . Theen going up two units you will then have .
