Hello, everyone

Can anyone please recommend a good and detailed guide/text for year 10, 5.3 Math? Preferably with lots of detailed worked solutions.

Using it for self-teaching purposes.

Thanks.

Thanks, autumn-angel.

Problem is, I had a teacher who cannot explain or teach to save his life (he has now left us, but that is a different story). We had to correct his mistakes - can you beat that?

I have half a year's worth of work to catch up on now.:(

I have signed up for tuition but feel like I should not be leaving it all up to the tutor. ( I know, I am paranoid now. )

Any advice or ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks again.

What's the current textbook you are using now?

I find New Century Maths and Signpost Maths are good textbooks.

Try the New Signpost Mathematics. It's structured a lot like the Cambridge Books.

maths quest 10, 5.3 has a lot of worked out examples although the exercises are fairly long...
i use that textbook in class

other than that, maths is a bit like sports
you have to think like an athlete so its just practice, practice, practice
its quite fun once u get good at it

New Signpost Maths 10 (which includes the full level 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 courses, and very appealing and colourful) is excellent and Maths Zone 10 is also pretty good.

In Year 10, I didn't bother using Year 10 textbook. I relied on Excel Year 11 Mathematics. It basically has everything but at higher levels. :)

I also used Excel Year 11 Mathematics Extension 1.
