I am currently doing extension maths, but I was wondering if you could drop back down to 2U adv maths and then pick up another subject anytime during the prelim year? Is this allowed?

thanks

Well, you do 2u maths already. So you'll be doing it even if you drop Extension.

And no, you can't pick up a subject at any time during the prelim year. You have like... until the end of this month to feasibly get into a new class with not much problem. After that, you have lots of work to catch up on and your school may not allow you.

You can drop maths extension 1 up until the day of your HSC exam.

If you have enough units I dont think any school has the capability to MAKE someone keep mx1
So yes you can drop any time but you cannot pick up another course midway

They are a prelim person.

If you are doing 12 units, no you can't drop MX1 in yr 11. However you could drop it from start of yr 12.
If you are doing 13 or more, then yes you can drop MX1 anytime in yr 11.
And no, most schools won't let you pick up a new prelim subject after about 4 weeks from now.

Check with your school. Some schools allow people to change subjects later than others. It is up to the Principal's discretion as to how late into the Preliminary year they will allow a student to pick up a new course.
