Can I get Green Ps if Red Ps will soon be suspended? (1 Viewer)

It has been a year since I got my Reds, and I got a letter saying that my Ps will be suspended on the 8th of April (Speeding), can I still get my Greens?

I don't see why not, as I'm not yet suspended, and It's been 12 months

yeah i know some people who got away with it and just lost some points by doing this, it might work, go in and ask the worst they can do is say no.

to cheat tha system you have to upgrade your licence before paying the fine

Between paying the fine and the RTA receiving notification of the offence is a 4 week window.


If you upgrade your license before paying the fine or during that window you'll get away with it. Otherwise, sucks to be you.

oh yeah, went down to the rta yesterday, and the lady said theres no record of an infringement as yet
which got me thinking
if i were to book my p's for like friday or something and then upgrade, could they stop me seeing as as far as they're concerned my record is impeccable

you don't have an outstanding fine because you've paid it
they have no record of the infringement as yet because it hasn't been passed on
exactly how would it be lying if i said i have no outstanding fines to pay

as far as the license holder is concerned they should be clear once they pay the fine/get sentenced at the court, the rest is up to the RTA. Say you got booked at the side of the road for speeding and paid the fine, the RTA wouldn't send you a letter to tell you that they took 3 points off because theres no suspension, right? So there really is no way effectively of knowing whether the matter is settled or not.

yeah you're not getting it. if they've sent you the letter then they obviously know about it - pending suspension = no upgrade.

Sooooo, I went to the RTA after have booked my test, and I did the test, and PAST!

But, I don't get it until after my suspension.

Result: Still suspended, but I get my Greens the day my license is un suspended

So if i received a fine today (speeding on the way to an exam, damn revenue raisers), if then i went and payed it tomorrow then went for my green P's straight after tomorrow i should escape a suspension?

Well went for my greens and got them without any trouble, guess i'll just have to wait for the letter to turn up. Got fined, payed it and got my greens all on the same day
