can i get my atar? (1 Viewer)

hey everyone
i need a 78 ATAR [not incredibly high] but i am worried about scaling and the Sam thing has freaked me out
i was in the top dozen for year 11 and i completed 15 units
for year 12 im down to 10 [tafe was crap and my music teacher had no idea]
i do:
adv english
2 unit maths
business studies
drama
visual arts

i know i can do well at there subjects and came first in bs, maths and va, i came 3/6 for drama. my only pitfall was english but i was in the top 20 out of 55.
what marks in teh hsc do i need to guarantee an atar of 78?
do i have any chance of getting an atar above 90? [my second preference - sydney requires a 98.55]

I remember seeing a raw mark of 50 something in english be weight to like 70 something.

I'm in the same situation as you, worried and freaked out

Give us:

Rank in Each Subject.

Rank of School in NSW,

Then we can give an alright aproximation.

im not sure what my school is rated - not in the top 200 - the year above me had disasterous results

you'll come to realise later that ranks aren't the be-all-end-all. Sure a decent rank coming into externals is nice to have, but really smash externals and you should do fine.

You must try to get 1st rank in all your subjects. And this is quite a loose question, but I think, (from what I gather) you will probably get 78 or higher. 98.55, I'm not so sure I'm afraid - even certain people who killed the HSC and get all band 6 don't get up to there. But hey, there's always bonus points

78, yes definitely. 98.55 - I wouldn't bet on it, I'll say that.

You should get 78, aiming to do psychology?
