let's say for the assesment mark, I get like 70% in adv math and I'm ranked in the middle but the mark really harshly. And in the HSC I get 95, how would they calculate the HSC mark

and with the assesment mark, if they do mark really harshly and I get an average and I do well in externals what happens then

The internal marks are moderated based on the cohort's exam marks so if you are getting 75 internally but get 95 externally and everyone else in your cohort also gets higher marks in the exam then the school marks will also go up.
