ps. The teacher opens the door for the students into the classroom (letting them enter a environment which they belong in etc etc) Would the technique be symbolism?

I've never seen that movie, nor have I studied belonging, but from what you've just told me (teacher opening to door to let the kids in the classroom coz they 'belong' there), yes, I would call that symbolism.

However, I do think it might be a stretch. You might wanna check with your teacher.
