So I was wondering if the teachers can just kick you out of the subject for low marks? Would this apply for extension courses?

yes. because low marks = unable to complete the course, so the teacher does whats best for you says you must leave the course.

They can't, you can get a big fat zero for ext courses and they still have to keep you in because you haven't got enough units for the HSC LoL.

A few people at my school have already been kicked down for poor marks without an interview or notification. What are your thoughts on that? I personally think this is unfair.

It depends on what school you go to i think, my bf brother isnt even allowed to move on to year 11 cuz they dont like his assessment marks. Some schools are insane.

they cant kick you out

if they do

They can prevent you from doing Extension subjects. [If you have other subjects to fall back upon]

No one can force you to drop a subject.

A guy in my class is being kicked out of legal studies and thus only has 8 units. He's forced to take up SOR bridging course as a result

If teachers are forcing you to drop a subject, then they are indirectly determining the composition of your subject choice, which is not allowed, as board of studies said student can choose whatever subjects they desire so long it satisfy certain criteria (i.e. 10 units, 2 must be english), and whether or not teachers agree with the subject choice is not one of the criteria. This applies in extension subjects.
