can u get a UAI 90+ with weak english (1 Viewer)

Hi viewers,
i am doing advanced english in HSC and my mean teacher is only passing me in this subject's assessments (giving me 55-65% per assessment). despite the amount of hard work i am putting onto this subjects.
i am scared i might end up getting a final mark in band 3 or 4. i am really concered, is it possible for me to get a UAI above 90-93 with this mark?. or put it another way has anyone got a UAI above 90 with band 3-4 in English ADV.?

i highly doubt ur teacher is giving you pass marks just because they're mean.
hard work =/= high marks

and yes its possible to get over 90 with a band 3/4 in english, especially with those subjects

Just get high marks in your other subjects

although unless you can absolutely ace the other subjects in your sleep, improving your english mark would be the easier way to go

Yep. However, u should really b aiming for high Band 4/low band 5 in English and gud marks in ur other subjects...

i think i am doing OK in other subjects with ranks ranging in top 10
i will work ultra hard for english.

yeh it is possible red somewhere a guy was doing similar subjects to urs he got 79 in eng adv and he got a uai of 95+

i got 79 for stnd , yet i got a uai of 93.55, go figure

play around with sam.. or einstien you might get a beter idea of what you should aim for on each subject..

very good selective doesnt offer ESL LOL

"Me think is not very good selective school." If you were a selective school student, you'd most likely be doing Extension/Advanced English - ESPECIALLY if you went to a good one like Ruse, High, Baulko etc.

Anyway, back to the OP, really, english is only 2 units of your hsc.. as long as you don't fail it and you achieve good marks in your other subjects - you'll be fine.
