F=mv² / r

does the "r" mean, for example a satellite above the Earth, "the radius of Earth + altitude at which the satellite is at" ?

For centripetal force, r refers to distance from centre of motion
So if it's a satellite above Earth, then it's radius of Earth + altitude

Sub F=mv²/r into:

F=Gm₁m₂/r²

for orbital velocity.

For escape velocity, just make K.E. = magnitude of Ep.

Are you accelerating or have you just learnt this, or do you learn this all yourself? It's so strange there is so many '09ers who appear to know more than us >
