Hi,

I will be a first year at uni this year and was wondering which places have the cheapest textbooks (online or in store)? I'm looking for second-hand textbooks rather than brand new ones for USYD. Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated. :)

You have a few options:
1) Don't buy textbooks.
2) Make friends that have those textbooks for you to leech.
3) Don't buy textbooks.
4) Torrents.
Did I mention don't buy textbooks? Because almost all of the materials covered in alot of subjects are widely available online.

Studentvip, zookal, depending on what uni you go to they might have their own site, macq does. But in saying all that, you're best off waiting till classes start to know exactly what you need, or at least checking your unit outline and seeing if it says it's a required text otherwise you could be out quite a lot of money when it turns out the text has changed or you don't even end up using it etc.

-Dont buy

-Download from the internet

-Borrow from friends or 2hr/overnight from the uni library

-Second hand

I spent around $20-30 on textbooks in the whole of last year
