hey can someone help me with my chem ?
account for the use of metals and nonmetals in modern society in terms of their physical properities ?
and comment on the statement with reference to -
energy input necessary for the extraction of metals

i think the answer could have something to do with melting points, boiling points and conductibility etc.

This dot point basically means give reasons and report on what physical properties, metals and non-metals have that makes them relivent to an aplication in industry.
For example1:
Copper is an excellent conductor, second only to silver, also is very ductile, making it suitable for use in electrical wiring ect.
Aluminium is a good conductor (about 60% of that of copper), but is much lighter and therefore cheaper. for this reason it is replacing copper in teligraph lines.
