That was asked last year, won't come up this year. I'm more fearful of the "Chemist in a named industry" dot point being worth a lot of marks.
I hate that dot point.
DO you have to name the chemist? Can't you say this is an analytic chemist who does blah blah blah.... Or do you say this is john who is a analytic chemist who does blah blah blah....

For bio maybe not something from a search for a better health? that's been done already in 2012 so maybe from the other modules.
1. comparing renal dialysis to kidney function
2. Artificial blood
3. Evidence for evolution
4. The Rosalind Franklin/ watson/crick dot point although I doubt it
5. transgenics, cloning, artificial insemination and their impacts on gene pool

For chemistry I would jump in joy if its the oxides one or AAS. My least favorite would be the lawn fertilizer experiment or comparison of a modern/traditional cell

lol. i'm exactly the opposite as you. I would jump in joy if it's lawn fertilizer or comparison of cells. I wouldn't mind it being AAS or oxides. but yea. I reckon this year it's going to be haber process.

I can't stand it. It's such an irrelevant thing to learn. But I'm fairly certain we can just say analytical chemist, and name a process they use. No need for specific names.

What space travel question would they ask? Difficulties associated with re-entry? What else is there that is long response in space? Maybe impacts of time/mass dilation and length contraction as well as e=mc^2 on future space travel.

LOL i fkin agree that dot point about the chemist and their role etc is legit ridiculous... theres so much shit to learn in the chem course, they could at lease take that crap away ahahah !!

Probably Lenz Law and its contribution towards the development of motors and generators as well as its impacts on society.

Or The Photoelectric Effect Or Einstiens Relativity Concepts and future implications on society.
Those 3 are main ones

You don't have to name the chemist...you need to name an industry....and what a chemist in that industry does.

Lol we're not saying it's hard to remember, we're saying the fact that it's in the syllabus is ridiculous and irrelevant.

It's irrelevant?! Are you high?

It tells us what chemists do in REAL-LIFE.....if a real-life scenario isn't relevant, what is?

I don't care about how Luke Smith monitors and cleans stuff, I want to make things fizzle and explode. That's relevant.

Albert Einstein and Max Planck were friends and colleagues. It is claimed by some that they held differing views concerning the role of the scientist in commenting on social and political issues. Outline Einstein’s views on this matter and debate the correctness of his attitude. (7 or 8 marker)

My teacher told us we can just make up a name for the chemist. Is this true?

That was in the independent trials this year.
