Chemistry Resources

:::::::::::::::::::UNDER CONSTRUCTION::::::::::::::::::::

I am compiling a list of Chemistry resources that you might find useful.

This site already has a good list of resources

The Charles Sturt University Syllabus dot point summary - Best summary in my opinion. If your not using it you better start now!

University Of Sydney Chemistry Resources. They link it relevent sections to other sites with information. Very useful.

Hi,
sorry to do this to you t-i-m-m-y in a public chat room but i was just going through
your 9.2 chemistry summary and checking to see if i had similar answers in my summary and i came to 3.2.9 identify the IUPAC nomenclature for straight-chained alkanols from C1 to C8 and in your table you have the stem of But as having 3 carbon atoms and the stem of Prop as having 4 carbon atoms! I just thought you might like to know so you can change it.... or leave it...whatever floats your boat. By the way thank you so much for posting your summarys up, they are awesome and have helped me heaps so far! thanks again and sorry... i tried to message just you but the stoopid thing doesn't work!

And in reply to Katiemae's post above, she is right.
Error # 1 in my notes (that i'm aware of, I think there's a few others):p

Re: HSC Chemistry Syllabus Notes 2007

1. Glucose structure not quite right

(Take a look at HSC 2001 Q4)

A and D are not correct as the monomer units are not inverted.
C is not correct either as the oxygen bonds among the monomer units aren't inverted.
So B is the only correct response.

Cellulose os a polymer made up of beta-D glucose monomers.
When linked together, every second monomer must be inverted.

2. Typo: acidc (Real spelling: acidic)

3. pipette appears to have disintegrated

4. Sodium spectra ?

It doesn't look quite right

A quick rundown on spectrum (as I do Astrophysics) assuming visible only:

Continuous Spectra: The entire spectrum is bright.
Emission Spectra: Bright line(s) will appear on a dark spectrum.
Absoprtion Spectra: Dark line(s) will appear on a continuous (bright) spectrum.

e.g

Hydrogen Absorption Spectrum: Some dark lines appear around the red end of the spectrum.
Hydrogen Emission Spectrum: Bright lines will appear on the lines which were black on the
absorption spectrum then otherwise the entire spectrum is dark.

I hope this site will be very useful to you. (Java required)

I think I saved your life...

These are my friends he got 99.95 for his UAI. Seriously, if you were waiting for a miracle to help you. Then this is it.

Enjoy =]

These notes are also already in the Resources section.
I wasn't sure if he uploaded the module 3 and 4 ones so i done them myself here....

seriously, it goes over EVERYTHING. he researches it all... funny thing last year, the bio class forgot the teachrs notes, and you'd see them all with copies of his notes studying in the library. IT killed the teachers... lol

www.easychem.com.au

I'd highly recommend checking it out

What about the quite popular ebay guy's notes that people at my school has been talking about? A bunch of my friends bought their team's econ notes and were amazed at it's helpfulness. Anyone keen to take a hit for a team and investigate the usefulness of their chem notes?

HSC 95+ in Economics, Legal, Chemistry Notes+Essays!!!! - eBay (item 320520505530 end time Apr-30-10 07:01:19 PDT)

Im tempted to get it, cos my teacher at school totally sucks **** and the text book is like a piece of crap.
