I think:
guys are so simple, they just can't begin to understand chicks, who are way to complicated.
and girls, with their insanely complex heads, can't even begin to comprehend the simplicity of a guy.
we can only agree to be different here. :)

tis an example of market failure really

there is imperfect information between males and females, so everyone ends up playing their lowest card,
like the market for used cars. people value good quality used cars high, but they cant be sure theyll get a good one, so they offer a lower price, and therefore only lower quality cars are traded, but traded at a price higher than they are worth.

im pretty happy with that analogy actually

economicsing it up to the bullshit

Lol that's great dude, it makes sense too. I suppose when people can't understand something in its natural environment it helps to take it away from that and create an analogy they can understand.

Haha that's a very generalized way to put it, but I think I know what you mean.

Females and males are opposite, which is why it is so difficult for us to understand each other. The best bet is for us to be straight up with what we want to say and what we want to do (reference to the 'thingy' with the pointing and stuff from a previous post)

I'm just glad I don't have to deal with it at all right now, as if school isn't difficult enough without trying to have to juggle a significant other at the same time!

well girls probably appear to be playing mind games..however, their minds are just more sophisticated...and dont deny it! its true! girls have the ability to pick up on guys body language...however apparently guys dont have the ability to do the same....

btw i read all this from 'why men dont listen and women cant read maps'...quite an interesting book!

that book is full of shit. having a sophisticated mind has nothing to do with the ability to pick up on body language. if anything our minds are multifaceted (which has been proven through medical experiments where epilepsy patients have had the communicating membranes between the hemispheres of their brains removed and they were still able to function normally) and should not be dumbed down into thinking that one sex has the ability to do one thing or another.

our mind is very much like a cpu, it does the same thing over and over again, but with different inputs and outputs and the rest of the body interprets that and acts on it. the mere idea that one person has some ability that another person doesnt have stems from the actual way the brain has been grown, not its structure due to having the double x chromosome. which means that the differences in peoples minds comes from how they were raised as a child (which is also the brains development stage). if there is a trend where one gender has the ability to perceive something the other cant, this is societies fault because society raises the children.

and also because of one genders apparent social upbringing, the other gender must have equivalent abilities that are not achievable by the other, and as such we have the strengths and weaknesses of the genders. however this is only specific to each different society.

im sorry for this huge rant but i took this rather personally "their minds are just more sophisticated" because i know its not true

who is the author of this book. i want to write an abusive 10 page letter on how and why their ideas are flawed!

i agree that books like that are gross, they only serve to widen the divide n provide more ammo for why we hate guys and vice versa

but, it has been proven that male and female brains are physically structured differently, studies have proven that men have thicker connecting thing-a-mes between the hemispheres of their brain whereas females have thinner connections but have more of them
i cant rememember what point they were trying to make with this research, i think they were trying to prove the age old adage that chicks are better at multi-tasking because their brain can carry more signals simultaneously

so yes, the combos of x and y cromosones do make a difference in brain structure!!

and it isnt all socities fault, mostly but not all, face facts ppl are born stupid/genius, for whatever reasons they're brains are able to function at higher/slower rates than others, blame it either on fucking einstein or your first cousin!!!

but socialisation plays such a huge role in brain devt, and gender concepts of gender are learnt...... but there you go there's my rave!

Why don't we watch "Mean Girls" so we might have a slight grasp of the complexities of the female mind?
I'm not one for chick flicks in general, but I have to say, Mean Girls had a half decent storyline, and I actually enjoyed it and found it amusing.....oh wait, maybe it was more amusing to me because there was a gay couple sitting in front of us, and watching their reactions to all the gay jokes was quite hilarious.

but it's exactly the same for us girls. The guys I tend to fall for are the type who you can never tell how they feel (the ones which you can read like a book tend to be the sleaze bags or the select few who have enough confidence to come up and tell you that they like you (in a non-sleazy way of course)). Sometimes something the person I like does, makes me think "hmmm, maybe he likes me", but then I tell myself that I'm reading into things too much, so I can never be sure about it, and I ignore it. It's just as intimidating as a girl to go up to a huge group of guys where the only one you know is the one you like. It all boils down to rejection and the fear of it....girls suffer from that fear just as much as guys do....dont feel as if you're the only one who gets intimidated.....I think everyone does, to varying degrees.

its not that were not clear, its that we dont want to tell you exactly wat we want cuz then we look demanding. we give you the ideas, but want u 2 come up with the results so we can say how wonderful you are.. eg
girl: "my old bf wrote me a beautiful poem, i htink thats the sweetest thing everrr"
*guy goes home and writes a poem 4 her and buys her flowers so he looks better than the ex*
girl: "omg! u shuldnt have!!"
*goes off and calls ALL of her frenz n shows anyone that'll look "look how much my bf loves me! isnt he great?!*

get it?

lol, as a guy that is one of the most annoying things a female can do in relation to chics mind games -.-

from experence when a chic says that to me i either think a) she's still in love with her ex bf b) her x bf is better then i am and c) i understand what she's getting at and trying todo, but i mean. . .how LAME would it be if the next day i showed up with a nice poem which she has pretty much told me to write. it'd b so unromantic n fake.

now when a girl says something like that, i just shrug it off n go ehhh thats nice

if u want us todo something romantic n sweet, do something romantic n sweet for us ^.^

The fear of rejection is a real obstacle, yet at the same time there would be no sense of 'achievement' or excitement without it.

If a guy/girl was to come up to you and tell you they really like you, at once you know if u wanted to go for them, that you will get them. So it eliminates any uncertainy and its excitement. And if u did go for them, and suceed, most of the acomplishment/excitement is gone.

In this way, 'playing games' is a way which one can make the opposite aware of the fact they like them or finds them attractive, without putting it in explicit terms, and hence maintaining the uncertainty.

imo, if you were to go out and tell a girl/guy u liked them, generally less is the chance u will get them. You place yourself as someone achievable and perhaps lower your desirerability.
You always want better than what u know u can get.

thats my interpretation...do ppl agree? (or is it common sense, lol)

ah, suck it up. don't you want to be in your girlfriends good book? You sound like a child whose complaining that he cant have a second scoop of icecream without paying for it himself. The thing is, do you think to do those things all by yourself? It sounds like to me that you just want a good ride. Its not as though you have to play 'Romeo' or anything....

Yeah it's really weird... like back in yr 7 -10 it was an all boys school, even though we had a girls school stuck next to us... and i mean most girls are ambigious little nuggets, and i still remember alot of guys took whatever girls say seriously... and they actually thought that like girls flirting with them meant they liked them... it was rather slack, cause i witnissed it... and i think when some people realised they were fooled, they were like scar'd to the point, and didn't even bother liking anyone, and went frigid like... gees, minds games chicks plays are evil!
