What does everyone think about the uni no longer selling cigarettes? I don't smoke, so it doesn't affect me, but I'm interested in how people will react to this next semester.

Hopefully this may help reduce the number of ciggarette butts that gets thrown all over the nice green grass areas and on the pavement (usually by fobs) right outside the library...

As an asthmatic who chokes involuntary at a whiff of cigarette smoke, I think I will definitely benefit from this.

... but why do I get the vibe that it's another publicity stunt? "Hey look, we're the Healthiest University in New South Wales!"

I don't think this rule will cut down smoking much, though. People have been buying cigarettes from outside uni for years... it's not going to stop now. If they really wanted to stop smoking, they'd start making 'No Smoking' zones in certain outside areas (like outside the library).
