my laptop randomly started saying that BoS is an unsafe website attempting to steal my information...which it has never done before in my whole year of being here

i think i've experienced that bug before, the best way to fix it seems to be using an incognito/private window until it resolves itself
(except that obv you've gotten into the site lol)

Anybody doing sac. For my pip I want to do something relating to mental health but I am kinda unsure what topics surrounding that idea I could do? Anyone have suggestions
Yeah I do SAC, just as a forewarning, things that are more niche (obviously they still have to be well put together) often score better - you almost want to present a topic they haven't seen before. So you could do mental health within a specific subset, like - In the face of artificial intelligence, or, within the extinction burst of right-wing neurotypical elitism

I think at one point I did something about the physiological and psychological effects of child abuse and neglect. It was quite interesting.
I also researched the biochemical processes of drugs in the brain.

I wouldn't object to sharing my documents with you, if you'd like.

yeah. and then we have to write this long thingy. lowkey I was gonna drop this so I didn't pay attention so lowkey don't know how many words it has to be
  • Introduction – no more than 500 words. The introduction outlines what the topic is about and why the student chose that inquiry.
  • Log – no more than 500 words. The log reflects the research journey a student has taken.
  • Central material – between 2500 and 4000 words. The central material is the main body of the PIP. Students use this section to weave cross-cultural comparisons and chosen continuity and or change perspectives into their work. Graphs and illustrations can be included in the central material. The central material can be divided into several chapters relevant to the topic chosen.
  • Conclusion – no more than 500 words. The conclusion is an explanation of what has been learnt as a consequence of the investigation.
  • Resource list – no word limit. Include annotations in this section. Refer to Appendix 1 resource list and annotations template for a scaffold.

yeah I have broad ideas but I'm struggling to find a niche thing. I also have another idea about like Gen Alpha and how their growing up so much faster, Sephora kids, etc but idk

I watched this short video essay about how the extintion of online spaces meant for children (Think club penguin, animal jam...) affects generation Alpha.

That sounds really interesting! Just make sure you have a passion for whatever you research, it'll make it so much easier

also, although max is definitely right, it doesnt ALWAYS have to be super niche - however this depends on the way you structure/write it (how much analysis + evidence/research + vocab) as people in my school have been doing the same topics such as freedom of speech & feminism and all get 36+, some getting 40s and some HDs/Distinctions. Send me your email, if you want, and I can give you lots of resources including past PIPs that have received 40/40 , vocab, structure ppt etc. :)
