Hello, so I've decided before that I wanted to do 'B commerce at UNSW', but I've recently stumbled across a Bachelor of Commerce (co-op).
So I don't really know what this is.. like I get that after uni you get trained by some other business. But.. the majors are only 'Accounting and business management, actuarial studies, finance, info systems and management, and marketing'.
Am I allowed to do a commerce major? like I want to do 'Business economics'. So... am I allowed to major in 'Accounting and business management' and 'business economics'?. In all reality, I don't want to be an accountant of any sort when I grow up though. In the commerce course i'm thinking of doing 'business economics' and 'human resource management' OR 'finance' - not really sure.
Would it be beneficial for me to do commerce co-op? and how long would it take to finish the course?
What happens if I put commerce co-op as my first preference? :( would it be beneficial? and was I supposed to fill out some sort of form beforehand? or do you just list it as one of your preferences?

Lastly, after the main round of the UAC preferences, if you get a preference.. but you wanted to get another one below it... does that mean you give up the preference you had before? and what happens if you dont get the course you wanted in the round afterwards? :S could you revert back and take the one you gave up?

Iirc you can do 2 majors (will check again soon). But if you don't want to become an accountant then what's the point in the first place? (considering all the co-op work expereicence will be accounting.

Also, co-op closes tomorrow lol and there're a fuckload of forms to complete. SO DECIDE QUICK

Ehh i dunno, just to open up my job prospects and have some sort of experience I guess. Where are the forms? o__o if theres a lot then i'll probably just stick with the normal ole commerce haha.
Isn't there work experience for business management though?(not related to accounting) - like erm, human resources or whatever? And... is there an ATAR requirement (minimum) for the co-op program?

Sorry about all the questions, I'm pretty much clueless about universities. After october 2nd, are we still allowed to change our preferences or only after we receive our ATAR?

You need to register first :)

I was considering applying for actuarial so i honestly have no idea about how much the course is weighted to either business/accounting units. But if you don't really like accounting then i don't know if you'd like it. You should've looked up into this a little earlier :p. I'm not too sure but co-op is VERY competetive (as they can only get enough spots as their sponsor numbers allow for). So a high atar will definitely give you an edge.

I'm not too sure myself haha. But it won't really matter that much either way would it?
