I have a small question for those that are doing/have done either of these courses or know people that are doing it, im wondering which course has the higher workload ? (as in lecture + self study combined)

im a pretty lazy person who is in a dilemma of which course to do... and i sort of want a little bit more free time than high school haha

You will probably get more time for self study if you choose Comm/Law

Which has a higher workload? Law, perhaps. Tons and tons of readings.

but isnt comm/law much more self-study based? i.e theres alot of work to be done yourself outside of lecture hours compared to comm/adv maths

There's always work to do. So I really don't see the point of this - because there's always work to do.

And at uni, no one cares if you do no work. And if you stuff up in Advanced Maths, you're gonna get kicked out of the degree m8 ;)

If you want a shit load of free time - do a straight commerce degree.

I thought Arts had way more free time...

but anyhow, commerce. Lots of free time.

The amount of free time depends on your aims. If your content with passes and credits, then you will probably have a lot of free time in the majority of degrees. If you are going for D's and HD's, then it can be a lot harder than high school.

Also, consider whether you actually like either of those degrees and have a genuine desire for a career in a related field. Dont just choose it because you have the ATAR or for the money+prestige, because chances are you will hate it and find it difficult to complete the degree.
