I am considering doing Actuarial Studies in university and thinking about a dual degree with either economics or commerce along side AS. However i am not sure whats the difference between both of them and which one will complement AS more. And what are the general careers that you could get with each degree.
Thanks

Commerce is quite board and teaches you small parts about financial services as in you do a bit of management, accounting, finance, taxation law and some international business options as well as stats in first year and you can than specialise from there on.

Where as economics is the study of why people make certain choices which are than combined with maths into fields like econometrics, financial economics or economics just by itself.

With both degrees you can go into any financial services career as long as you did the relevant units in uni to get the employer convinced you can do the job. Also you can work as an economist or even a consultant or academic if you wish to.
