i dunno...i'm interested in the Computer Game Construction and Design specialisation for Comp Sci but I also want to do a comined degree with psychology...I dunno if its possible...

There's such thing as game design specialisation in UNSW? I'd be interested to knoweViLnUt said:i dunno...i'm interested in the Computer Game Construction and Design specialisation for Comp Sci but I also want to do a comined degree with psychology...I dunno if its possible...
Just send these guys an email: undergrad at cse dot unsw dot edu dot aueViLnUt said:i dunno...i'm interested in the Computer Game Construction and Design specialisation for Comp Sci but I also want to do a comined degree with psychology...I dunno if its possible...
Its a specialisation in Comp Sciunderthesun said:There's such thing as game design specialisation in UNSW? I'd be interested to know
I'm fairly certain there are enough UOC for a specialisation and a minor (psych) in comp sci.underthesun said:I think it's also possible with compsci, but better confirm with someone else.
hmm wow I'll definately be looking into doing that in a couple of years (I'd have to do it in 3rd year right?)zoodboog said:
nah i'm thinkin of a combined degree...sunny said:Just send these guys an email: undergrad at cse dot unsw dot edu dot au

I said jilted SENG reject, not a person who rejects SENG.zoodboog said:yep I do reject SENG just like any sane person would
Note that you can do these subjects anyway, without the "specalisation" tag.sunny said:Its a specialisation in Comp Sci

Intersting. Could take this 4th year ...zoodboog said:
Comp eng involves more maths, but not directly maths as such, but maths you would do in the electrical engineering half of computer engineering - but don't understimate it, its still quite a bit of maths.drewgcn said:Was going to ask, how difficult is the maths in comp eng/comp sci?
In first year the maths subjects are common; math 1A, math 1B, discrete maths (only minor difference in this subject) - from there onwards comp eng will do more maths related subjects via electrical engineering that the comp sci students won't have to do.drewgcn said:And is there a difference in amount/difficulty between the two?
First year maths has two parts: algebra and calculus (so yes there is trig). A good 2U student should be able to keep up in first year maths. Having done 3U or 4U helps even more.drewgcn said:I'm doing ext1 maths, and I find 2U maths very easy, but 3U maths very hard (mainly due to my inept ability to understand any sort of difficult trigonometry). Given the recommended level of maths is 90-100 in 2u and 100-150 in 3u it doesn't look very difficult (even a combined mark of 130 for 2u+3u seems fairly easily attainable).
Basically, how much/what topics in maths are there (I'm told lots of calculus...any trig? ), and how difficult are they?
If the distribution from the raw marks are too skewed, they actually apply scaling on, say the exam marks, so that the final marks are more "adjusted".§eraphim said:Does this mean there isn't any scaling like in Maths?
Why fortran? It's so old, and less powerful than the almighty CAlso, does CSE teach Fortran? WHo uses F?
