Conflicting Perspectives-HELP??? (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,

Just need some help in understanding the conflicting perspectives topic a bit better.

My class is doing the justice game as the text.
I know that we have to look at various conflicting perspectives within the text, and then get related texts which also have various conflicting perspectives in them, but what i do not understand is how we are meant to link the texts together?

E.g. In the Diana in the Docks chapter there is the perspective that the photos being taken of DIana were justified, whilst others disagree, saying that it's illegal.

Then in a bill henson article I have it says that the images were pornographic,whilst another article says they weren't.

How am I meant to link these together??????

You develop a thesis, ie: "Composers employ conflicting perspectives in order to persuade audiences to a particular point of view" (or something rather).

And from there, you talk about how Justice Game uses conflicting perspectives. Then you talk about how the articles about Henson employ CP to persuade their audiences to another point of view.

hey guys,

I know this is slightly off topic, but how would you structure an essay for this module. I was going to do my core text (Justice Game) then related text, but since I was thinking of doing only one issue, ie. press freedom vs. privacy i'm not sure this would have enough info.

So essentially my Q's are: should I structure this differently, and is one issue enough?

Also, when writing about the author's view, are we meant write about the view, and then spam techniques that support it?...

Not necessarily the composer's perspective - but how he/she PRESENTS perspectives OF his/her character, or events and situations within the text.
