Gidday!
I am doing BA Applied Science (Mathematics) next year at RMIT part time!
I am trying to work out the approx. hours needed to study with the approx. 8 contact hours? What is the rule of thumb with out side of uni hours vs. contact hours? I have a lot of other things going on next year so I will really need to be organised and timetable out my work etc..

Generally One contact hr = One study hr

It really depends on how devoted you are.
