I'm sure everyone has had bad teachers within their life but since there's not really any teacher change in yr11/12, your kinda stuck if you have a bad teacher. Anyone have any tips on how to self study during class time if your teacher basically doesn't teach and just rambles on about the most useless thing? Particularly English and Maths!

for math self study with textbooks, past papers and other resources (mb competition maths for hard Qs)

for english find online notes and exemplar responses, then write out timed essays for practise on different questions. there is not much you can do in class but make notes o. your texts. if your teacher is bad you don't get any good feedback so peer marking is good or just get a tutor.

I mean to be clear, whether you get a good mark or not is self study, ultimately you have to write and analyse by yourself. But if you were going to pick a subject to do tutoring, and your english teacher is non-existent, then I'd probably pick english. Then again I feel like most people don't use their English tutoring effectively at all, like they just show up each week and don't improve anything, but maybe I just think this way because math>>>>english for me.

my math teacher I had in years 8-10 would tell us stories about his life within his country before moving to Australia instead of teaching maths. It was fun listening to him though and his stories.
