Core Courses for Mathematics and Statistics?? (1 Viewer)

Im planning to do bscience and major in statistics. But ive been looking around but i can't seem to find which core courses your meant to do in order to major in statistics. Can someone give me a brief overview of this? Thanks.

To do a major in Maths or Stats, you would need to do the following (first-year) courses:

Stage 1
MATH1131 or MATH1141 Mathematics 1A (SEM1)
MATH1231 or MATH1241 Mathematics 1B (SEM2)
MATH1081 Discrete Mathematics (Highly Recommended) (can be done in SEM1 or SEM2)

thanks for the info. But do i have to do stage 1 within the first year?

Well yes, all the MATH1XX1 courses as listed in the handbook are taken by students in their 1st year, but MATH1081 can be done in later years if you wish, although I would recommend for you do it first year :)

NOTE that MATH1081 is only a recommended course, so you if find that you do not want to do it, you can always replace it with some other Free Elective or Gen Ed of your choice, as long as it still fulfills your program requirement.
