bruhh i know I'm going to be a dick here but there's some people in my school FB group right

they're trying to desperately cancel trials and potentially the HSC (defo sitting out the trial block) by pulling the mental health card.

They're the same people who wanted social to go ahead when gladys introduced the 5 person rule

honestly, watching them rant on Fb is the funniest thing ever hahahaahh

Teaching is no where near what it was 20-30 years ago, back then it was much easier, apart from teaching you just did a bit of prep work before and after school and that was it. Nowadays, there's a tonne of paperwork, the curriculum is overcrowded with junk and teachers are increasingly focused on meeting every Hugo and Mackenzie's needs. My Aunty is a teacher and Im shocked by all the work that goes into it - not to mention my Aunty reckons half the kids she teaches are on all sorts of behavioural pills (another responsibility which falls to the teacher).

the curriculum is overcrowded with junk?
My mum's a teacher, and yeah, she quite often rants about how bs everything is in terms of what she has to deal with especially considering students' needs. In her 20 or so years, she says that the school system has kinda gone to schite. She says that with the dumbing down of teaching (to student based learning) and the reduced work ethic because of the heavy increase in students pulling the "I'm depressed/have mental issues" card, the education system in her opinion has gone to shit lol. From my economics, I'm pretty sure we went from being at the top of the OECD to being near the bottom, over the span of like 30 years, and I'm sure the factors that my mum's observed have played a role in it.

omg yeah they’re making a petition to cancel the hsc hahah
there is another petition to prevent schools resuming on the 16th due to the covid risk, which imo is a much more sensible option but it doesn’t have as much traction as the “cancel hsc” petition (which there is almost no chance of that happening.)

being a hs teacher in the late 90s/early 2000s (from my observations) must have been livin the fuckin dream

science teachers in my hs just sat there at their desk reading the paper while everyone did nothing in class, only work theyd often do was hand out some find-a-word paper puzzles nobody ever did

dream job, would have killed to have been on that gravy train
