hey guys, ill cut straight to the point

I work 3 days a week in retail (each day being 6-7hr shifts) --> which i believe is a favourable position to be in when applying for internships in uni?
I have a handful of hobbies on the side that I still want to commit to i.e. games, trying to learn new language, and gym
I am 99.99% sure I will be doing Commerce/Maths at UNSW (unless cut off changes idek, got GE @ 97.9 with 4 bonus points, don't know how "guaranteed" that is)

So my questions are; Ideally, how much of retail job would i have to cut down on when uni comes into play? Can anyone doing this exact degree combination or similar tell me how many days a week they go uni? Is it possible to go 3 days a week with 2 degrees? Roughly how many hours a week do you allocate to studying per week, and get good marks while having a job on the side? Was an extremely average maths student at school (still did 4u, got 76 in hsc..), still love maths and want to pursue it in uni, if i still havent developed this mathematical mindset of a good math student at school, is it too late for when university starts? in other words will i struggle ALOT in uni because of this? around when can i make my schedule/timetable @ unsw?

thanks guys, any advice is appreciated, feeling bit :confused2: & :(

Guaranteed entry means you're getting an offer if it's your highest eligible preference.

Studying per week depends on your goals in uni.

When I was organising a UNSW actl+maths timetable I got it to 2 days so just pray your timetable is good.

You can make your timetable when you accept your offer.

3 days of work is defs quite do-able without having to sacrifice much free time. Does depend on how motivated you are/how little you can procrastinate. I worked for 4 days last sem while studying 3 subjects and was still able to socialise a bit while getting a somewhat decent semester wam, to give you an idea of what's possible.

I work 3 - 4 days per week. I go to uni full-time (4 hours of commute per uni day). On the side I am working on my startup and I volunteer at two other charitiess. I'll admit I don't have a social life, but I get enough sleep, have a high WAM (79 WAM this semester despite getting 2 credits). I did put on abit of weight this year, but I'm losing most of it (eating 250 - 800 kcal/ day) right now. Ritalin / dexedrine help :p

Sorry this sounds like such a humblebrag (I'm not trying to!) but it's definitnely doable. As long as you get a Cr average or above, you are fine. The extra pocket money during uni is also very nice :))

Feel free to PM me if you need any help. I have a routine I stick to and a reward system I use on myself to reinforce positive behaviour.

All the best

I haven't got the timetable yet, I'm actually enrolled in MQ but I'm still making my decision of MQ vs UNSW, weighting pros and cons etc.

Yeah I thought we'd get offers for guaranteed entry but guess not. Get in fast for your offer to get a good timetable.

No problem dude. The one thing that I wish somebody told me when I first started uni is to make good use of your time. 2 hour commute? Download lecture slide PDFs and review them on your phone on the way back AND forward. It goes a *super* long way to helping you retain information. 30 minute break at work? Use that time to review one week's lecture slide that you've done before. Exercising on a treadmill? Watch lectures or make notes while exercising. Organisation > Intelligence. Trust me, I'm proof :D
