hi guys

Need help with choosing the the business law courses. i have to take both entity and taxation in complete my CA. but i cant entitiy the next sem (ie, sem1 2012) coz the timetable is soo bad. i was wondering can u take business taxation before taking entity?
Does anyone take these two courses before? r these related? the main quesiton is will it be HARD?

btw, i gonna take fins1612 2624 and acct2522 for the rest of my courses

From memory you can do taxation before doing entities as in both cases, the prerequisite subject is LEGT1710. Refer to UNSW Handbook: http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/courses/2012/LEGT2751.html

I personally found both 2741 and 2751 challenging but extremely interesting. I ended up doing very well in both subjects (HDs) but then I also realised I put more effort into learning and understanding (as well as participating in tutorials) for both. They aren't really very related as one is on corporations act and how companies are structured with the role of shareholders vs directors, whilst the other is on taxation. If I were in your position though I'd want to do tax as late as possible since a lot of that will be re-taught in CA and if you do the tax module first, you'll remember the most of it and it'll be a tad easier.

The other subjects you listed aren't too bad. 1612 is easy. 2624 is hard if you don't understand/grasp concepts and don't study much. 2522 is meh but not that hard.
